Church choir continues to sing during mass amid magnitude 4.7 earthhquake in the Philippines
This is the dramatic moment a Catholic church choir continued singing despite the ground trembling due to a magnitude 4.7 earthquake in the Philippines.
Footage shows the singers keeping their composure while performing for mass as the building shook in Agusan del Sur province on September 8.
The pianist also did not stop playing the piece, although he gestured to the singers about the quake.
Despite being struck by natural calamity, there was no damage or injuries in the church that day.
One of the choir singers, Shiela Mae Yonson, said: 'We were on the second floor, so we felt the shake, but we did not stop singing.'
When the Spanish arrived in the Philippines in the 16th century, they brought Catholic missionaries who sought to spread Christianity among the natives.
The Philippines experiences frequent earthquakes because it is located along the Pacific Ring of Fire, a region known for intense seismic and volcanic activity.
