As the number of new energy vehicles (NEVs) rapidly increases in China, there is a significant surge in demand for charging piles in both urban and rural areas.
In central China's Hubei Province, local authorities have installed NEV charging piles in more than 7,000 villages.
A newly-built 60-kilowatt charging pile in Zitan Village of Ezhou City is equipped with two charging guns that can power up an NEV to over 80 percent charge within an hour.

"I've always planned to buy an NEV, but I was hesitant before because there were no charging piles in the village. Now, with the installation of the charging piles, my concerns have been completely resolved."
Charging infrastructure is being built step-by-step in Hubei's remote Shennongjia Forest District, which sits at an average altitude of 2,000 meters.

"To enhance rural tourism, we have constructed charging facilities in 21 administrative villages, with a total of 322 charging piles in place. By 2025, we expect to have over 1,700 piles to better meet charging demands."
According to official data, the total number of installed charging piles in Hubei has reached 423,000.
