This is the dramatic moment sand dredgers crashed into a bridge as the river surged from Super Typhoon Yagi in Vietnam.

Footage shows the two specialized boats drifting and smashing into the To Mau bridge across the Chay River in Luc Yen district, Yen Bai province, on September 9.

One vessel sank and passed under the bridge while the other remained stuck.

Yagi was Asia's most powerful storm this year, triggering landslides and floods that killed at least 150 people in Vietnam, where it made landfall.

Four people also died in the Chinese holiday of Hainan in its path after coming from the Philippines, where it killed at least 20 residents.

The tropical cyclone intensified into a Super Typhoon last week, causing a trail of destruction in the region.
