This is the astonishing moment a resident's female pet parrot flew to Moscow Zoo - to kiss her 'boyfriend' parrot through the net.

Cute footage shows two rose-ringed parakeets engrossed in each other while talking in their own bird language on September 8.

One parrot can be seen inside the zoo enclosure, and the other parrot is on top of the net and is, therefore, free.

Moscow Zoo suspects a pet parrot from a nearby home is flying in to visit the zoo's parrot on a romantic date and for a quick peck on the beak.

Moscow Zoo's General Director Svetlana Akulova said: 'Friends, neighbours, confess! Whose female parrot is this?

'It flies in, kisses our parrot and flies away. What about the wedding? Come and meet us!'

In the Moscow Zoo, the rose-ringed parakeet (Psittacula krameri), also known as the ring-necked parakeet or the Kramer parrot, lives in the Bird House on the Old Territory in common enclosures with other species of small and medium-sized parrots.

Like other species of parrots, they are fed with various plant foods.
