STORYLINE:

The 24th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) concluded Wednesday in Xiamen City, east China's Fujian Province.

An exchange event titled "China Provinces-U.S. States Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange & Networking" was held Monday at CIFIT.

About 200 government representatives and business people from China and the U.S. attended the event.

Some U.S. attendees voiced expectations to pursue green and low-carbon cooperation with China.

"In the city of California, our power company has a carbon zero goal for 2030. In order to reach that goal, every little bit of carbon capture, every little bit of carbon reduction counts, and a lot of these products and technologies are coming from China. I think you know what we want to do is to build a win-win relationship. The Chinese manufacturers often have good ideas. We would like to see a showroom of Chinese products that are related to carbon reduction, carbon capture in particular appliances aside of them into the state capital of California."

"China is now leading the world in the wind energy, in the solar energy, in electrical vehicle uses and production. China has developed new technology that can share with us, with our provinces. We want to make sure we open our markets for Chinese investment. That's one of the things that we're going to benefit from, but making sure the Chinese companies partner with American companies, and work together in order to use American technology as well as Chinese-developed technology to make sure that the future is better for all of us. There are various ways that we can work together, and continue to invest, continue to increase cross-border transactions."
