This is the heartwarming moment a pet cat and a bearded dragon lizard cuddled after forming an unlikely friendship.

Curious, the five-year-old brown feline, and the orange reptile have been inseparable since the lizard was adopted by their owner in Nanjing, Jiangsu, China.

Footage shows the furry creature walking toward its companion, who was basking in the sun. Upon reaching it, the cat immediately lay down beside the resting animal, rubbing its fur against it on August 17.

The filmer said: 'The duo has been living together for a year. Curious always likes to stay close to the lizard, and they have lived in harmony.'

Bearded dragons are known to be calm and non-threatening, which might prevent a cat from seeing them as prey or a threat. Some cats have laid-back personalities and may not be interested in attacking or harassing smaller animals, allowing for peaceful interactions.
