Shopper regrets stacking boxes of booze on trailer when they topple over
A shopper regretted stacking dozens of boxes onto a trailer when they toppled over while being loaded into his vehicle.
The 50 boxes of expensive Chinese liquor known as baijiu had been bought from the supermarket in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, in East China on September 4.
They were being taken out of a warehouse to be loaded in the back of the black people carrier when the accident happened in
Warehouse staff said that the person responsible for moving the boxes had stacked them improperly and failed to secure them to prevent tipping.
None of the high-value Wuliangye bottles were reported to be broken in the accident.
While many baijiu brands are priced similarly to other spirits, the most expensive brand involved in the incident, Wuliangye, retails for CNY 1,000 (approximately GBP 107) per bottle. Each box contained at least six bottles, and there were 50 boxes.
