(Voice_over)
China is accelerating construction of its digital infrastructure as the country’s big data industry continues to grow.
Infrastructure for the data industry includes network, computing, distribution and safety facilities.
In July, officials from the country’s National Data Administration explained that the facilities will use data space and blockchain technologies for the efficient circulation of both public and enterprise data and will be deployed in major cities like Beijing and Shanghai.

Zhong Kai, President, China Electronics Taiji (Group) Co., Ltd:
"We are now setting up an all-in data service platform for Beijing municipal government, which incorporates the data supply, data utilization and the data products trading. It will ensure a free flow of data and provide a reliable marketplace for data trading."

Officials from the country’s National Development and Reform Commission said the data infrastructure projects will first be rolled out in the country’s major economic regions including the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the Yangtze River Delta region and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
According to the National Data Administration, China's total data output reached almost 33 zettabytes in 2023, an increase of about 22 percent year-on-year, with core digital economy industries accounting for 10 percent of the country’s GDP.
