Cargo tanker stuck under railway bridge in Kostroma
On September 12, 2024, the cargo tanker Lena Neft, traveling along the Tatarstan-Yaroslavl route, became stuck under a railway bridge over the Volga River in Kostroma, Kostroma Oblast, Russia. The incident occurred when the vessel miscalculated the bridge’s dimensions, causing its wheelhouse to contact the bridge deck. Despite the mishap, the seven crew members were unharmed, and both bridge and waterway traffic remained unaffected.
