STORYLINE:
Turkish police detained 316 suspects in anti-drug trafficking operations across 50 provinces, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said Thursday.
Police seized 580 kg of narcotics and 121,970 pills in simultaneous operations, Yerlikaya said in a post on social media platform X, without specifying the time of the operations.
According to the Turkish minister, a total of 790 police teams, 1,910 personnel, 14 aerial vehicles, and 17 narcotic detector dogs participated in the operations, dubbed "Narkocelik-38."
He also shared video footage of the seized narcotics and the operations showing police teams apprehending the suspects.
