Russian man survives lightning strike while filming dance video in Batumi, Georgia

On September 11, 2024, a 32-year-old Russian man from Samara, identified as Pavel Smirnov, was struck by lightning while filming a dance video with his brother and friends on a pier in Batumi, Georgia. The group had gathered to enjoy the sunset when thunder suddenly sounded, and Pavel was hit by a powerful electric shock, causing him to fall and his clothes to catch fire. Medics quickly arrived and transported him to a local hospital with burns on his stomach, back, and legs. Despite the severity of the strike, doctors were surprised that Pavel survived without serious injury.
