Sleeping family awoken in terror as water bucket crashes through ceiling onto their bed
In the early hours of September 12, a woman, her partner, and her baby were abruptly awakened while sleeping in a rented apartment in Beijing by a water bucket falling from above.
According to the woman, they were sleeping in the first-floor bedroom when suddenly a water-filled bucket, accompanied by bricks, broke through the ceiling and crashed onto the bed. Fortunately, the family had a mosquito net that provided some cushioning, preventing the bucket from directly hitting them, allowing all three to escape unharmed. However, the sudden shock left them shaken.
It was later discovered that the woman was renting a first-floor apartment, and there was a leak in the kitchen on the second floor. To deal with the leak, the landlord had placed a bucket above the first-floor ceiling to catch the water. However, since the bucket was left unattended and eventually filled with water, it led to the bucket falling through.
The woman has since contacted the landlord, requesting immediate repair of the leak and enhanced safety measures.
