Russia has said that it has fired Vulkan and Oniks missiles during naval exercises off the coast of Russia in the Far East.

The footage shows a Russian warship firing a missile and two mobile missile launchers on the coast preparing to fire.

A Russian soldier in one of the mobile missile launchers then arms one of the war machine's weapons and fires before the footage ends.

The images were obtained from the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) on Friday, 13th September, along with a statement claiming: "As part of the strategic command-and-staff exercise 'Ocean – 2024,' diverse forces of the Northern Fleet launched a missile strike on a complex target position simulating high-speed vessels of a notional enemy in the Barents Sea."

Russian forces launched Vulkan and Oniks cruise missiles against a simulated target in the Barents Sea, during the 'Ocean-2024' exercise in Kola Peninsula in Russia.
