Footage shows the aftermath of a "collision" which saw a car smash backwards into a building beside a Lidl. "

The driver of a red Nissan Juke was left "in agony" after "being hit" and colliding into a "parked" silver Citroen C1."

The force of the crash then saw the 4x4 spin around and smash into a disused building next to Lidl on Church Street in Croydon, south London, at approximately 3pm on September 13.

Within "five to 10 minutes", an ambulance arrived and took the driver to hospital. "

Eyewitness Vanessa Silva, 32, a teacher, from Crawley, West Sussex, said: "Nobody was really doing anything to help - just getting their phones out. "

"I was walking down the street, shopping, when the crash happened. "

"I didn't see it - just the aftermath. "

"I asked the gentleman in the car if he was OK - he nodded, but covered his mouth as if he was hurt. "

"The ambulance arrived about five, 10 minutes later and took him away."
