China has been a model of a collaborative country in terms of South-South cooperation, Dima Al-Khatib, director of the UN Office for South-South Cooperation, said in a recent interview with Xinhua.

The United Nations celebrated the UN Day for South-South Cooperation on Thursday.

"China has been a model of a collaborative country in terms of South-South cooperation. It's a long-term partnership, but it's a steady one; it's a systematic one; it's a growing one. And it's one that the experience has been not only on its full collaboration, but also on making or on availing, if you will, the technical advantages and experiences of China which other countries have been benefiting from.
I have seen hands-on during my visit last year to China how this collaboration has made a huge difference in a lot of countries, whether it's in terms of installation of hydropower at the local level in communities where you don't have electricity and you are enabling them to access energy.
Another example that was extremely impressive for me was a collaboration between one city in China, and Santiago in Chile in terms of managing transport using digital platforms. Other is where, you know, there was an ongoing capacity building on establishing e-commerce platforms. So all of these details were discussed with participants from different countries around the world who were interested to learn from the experience of China. So, yes, it's extremely impactful, consistent, systematic, and, you know, more to come."
