A baby python caught sleeping inside an aircon unit of an office was rescued.

The juvenile serpent was discovered when one of the employees turned the appliance on and heard strange sounds in Ang Thong province, Thailand on September 16.

When one of the colleagues Foei climbed a ladder to check thinking it was broken, she was shocked to find the 19.7 inches (50 centimetres) snake curled up so they called the rescuers for help.

Footage shows a volunteer using a step ladder to reach the aircon and poke through with a stick.

The bottom cover was removed and the team members used a rod with a noose to pull the animal.

Foei said: ‘The python entered through the ceiling looking for a place to nest.'

The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
