Pointe-Noire, Republic of the Congo - September 15, 2024
The Chinese People's Liberation Army hospital ship, "Peace Ark," arrived in the Republic of Congo on Sunday for a seven-day visit under its "Harmony Mission-2024".
Docking at the Port of Pointe-Noire around 10:00, the ship was greeted with a formal welcome ceremony by Congolese officials.
The arrival drew a warm reception from local residents, political leaders, military personnel, staff from the Chinese Embassy, and representatives of the Chinese nationals abroad.
During its visit, the "Peace Ark" will offer medical services on board to patients and deploy expert teams to local hospitals for joint consultations. This mission comes amid Africa's ongoing battle with an outbreak of mpox.
Representatives of the mission will engage in collaborative learning and development activities with the Chinese Embassy.
