Passengers start fighting on low-cost flight in India
Two passengers fought over luggage compartments on a low-cost flight in India.
The hotheaded fliers almost came to blows on IndiGo Airlines flight 6E5006 from Guwahati to New Delhi when they refused to share overhead cabin space at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati.
Footage shows the angry men being separated by crew and their families on September 14.
Both men refused to back down and argued from opposite side of the aisle, causing a delay to other passengers.
They can be heard accusing each other and demanding an apology while their companions try to calm them down.
Soon after, the cabin crew de-escalated the situation, and the Airbus A320 departed as scheduled.
IndiGo is a low-cost carrier based in India. In 2023, it secured fourth spot in the list of most punctual airlines in Asia-Pacific, conducted by aviation analytics firm Cirium. Al Nippon Airways from Japan claimed the first place, followed by Japan Airlines and Thai AirAsia.
