Young Aussie tourists tussle outside bar in Phuket, Thailand
Two rowdy young Australian tourists started fighting when one of them miscued a pool shot.
The holidaymaker visited the bar with two other friends and ordered beers while they played on the table in Phuket, Thailand, on September 2.
One was said to be trying to show off to local women when he hit too hard, and his cue fell off - causing the owner to scold him.
A witness said the Aussie became aggressive before an argument sparked between him and his pal, who made jokes about it.
Footage shows the young Aussie shouting at his friend before pushing him on the shoulder. Their other friend was trying to stop the tension with the bar girls before they were ushered into the street.
Bar waitress Yai Lae Roilan said: ‘They came together and looked like friends. One of them hit the ball so hard that it bounced off the table. My boss scolded him and was embarrassed but was furious and picked a fight when his friend teased him.'
Thailand has opened its doors to tourists over the last year in a desperate bid to revive its tourism industry. However, the influx of visitors has led to reports of drunken fights among tourists, including clashes with locals. There have also been numerous complaints about overcrowding and rising prices.
