This is the incredible moment a wild bear approaches motorists and sits on the road by their open windows, waiting for them to toss it some food that it enjoys with gusto.

Phone footage captured by Mr Cai near Qamdo in the Tibetan region of China on September 8 shows what appears to be a Tibetan blue bear, one of the world's rarest bear species. The animal is seen walking along a dirt road between a line of SUVs.

One driver tossed a piece of fruit, and the bear followed the car, hoping for more.

The motorist then stops by the road and, through his open window, continues to give it more fruit and some carrots he happens to be carrying in the car.

All along, the bear patiently sat on its hind legs, waiting for the treats as if it were an obedient pooch rather than a fearsome wild beast.

Stunned Mr Cai said: 'There were two brown bears right in the middle of the road. The first car threw them an orange, but they didn't eat it.

'The second car threw them an apple, and they ate it happily.

'One of the apples fell under the car, and the bear crawled under to pick it up and eat it. The scene was so adorable!'

Local authorities have advised against this, however, because it will teach the bears to interact with humans more and because the animals can behave unpredictably no matter how cute they seem at first.
