This is the shocking moment a Chinese tourist has his phone snatched while live streaming during a trip to the U.S., just as he complains about how unsafe the city is.

Travel blogger Xiaolaizi was live streaming from Times Square in New York on September 8 when a viewer commented that claims about America being unsafe were false.

The square was crowded, with people leisurely strolling around. Xiaolaizi, while walking and discussing the comment, was suddenly interrupted when a suspected thief grabbed his phone.

Realising what had happened, Xiaolaizi turned and chased the man, cursing at him the entire time.

Seeing Xiaolaizi catching up, the thief quickly threw the phone on the ground.

The man in white thought he could get away by dropping the phone, but he underestimated his pursuer.

Xiaolaizi picked up the phone and furiously chased after the man, who then assumed a fighting stance, confident that Xiaolaizi would not dare confront him directly.

The two then engaged in a heated physical struggle that lasted at least a minute.

The fight was intense, and the live stream was interrupted several times, leaving viewers in shock.

Xiaolaizi later confirmed he was unharmed, but the thief escaped and disappeared into the crowd.
