STORYLINE:
Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty met with visiting Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto on Tuesday.
The officials talked about cooperation and relations between the two countries while also touching on several regional and international issues such as the crises in Libya, Sudan, and Ukraine.
The ministers also addressed the war on the Gaza Strip.

"We have asserted the utmost priority of the immediate ceasefire and stopping the aggression in the Gaza Strip, in addition to reaching a deal. The Egyptian side affirmed the quick need to reach a deal, with an aim of releasing all hostages and prisoners, in addition to securing the full and unconditional entry of humanitarian and medical aid to the Gazans."
Szijjarto affirmed the importance of Egypt in the face of illegal immigration against Europe.

"We Hungarians and Egyptians know exactly what the danger is about, because both countries are located in the immediate neighborhood of armed conflicts and war, and we both face challenges caused by massive illegal migration. We would like to live in safety. There are two things to this. It is necessary, on the one hand, that the wars affecting its territories end as soon as possible, and to stop the waves of migration hitting its territories as soon as possible. Egypt has a big role in both. Egypt is a very important depository of European security."
At the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding for Cooperation in the field of Nuclear Reactor Technology was signed between the two states.
