This is the shocking moment a sports hall roof collapsed during heavy rain in Indonesia.

The structure's gutters were overloaded by the deluge and gave way while the storm was pounding the Rindam Iskandar Muda Shooting Range in Aceh Besar Regency, Aceh, on September 17.

Footage shows water dripping from the ceiling. Moments later, it fell onto the floor due to the weight accumulated from the rain, prompting athletes to run in fear.

Cable wires can be seen dangling, and water floods the building. No one was reportedly injured in the incident.

Officials said the establishment has been used as a shooting sports venue for the 2024 National Sports Week, the largest sporting event in the country, with representatives from 38 provinces participating.

Several sports competitions were reported to be postponed due to the incident and the rainy weather.

The Chairman of the National Sports Committee of Indonesia, Marciano Norman, said: 'Because of the extreme weather, matches needed to be stopped. I have coordinated with all parties to decide that the athletes will rest, and now the field is being repaired.'
