Kirov, Russia - September 12, 2024

[Note: no sound]

This is the moment a drunk Russian sets fire to his ripped T-shirt when he cannot take it off and then walks out of a lift with his trousers on fire, apparently oblivious to the flames.

The incident took place in Kirov, in Russia, on Thursday, 12th September, with the images showing the three men, visibly drunk, slowly getting into the lift on the 13th floor.

But the last man, whose T-shirt already appears badly ripped, does not get in completely, and the doors begin to close on him. He reacts aggressively and elbows the lift doors open.

He then proceeds into the lift as the doors close behind the trio.
The man then tries to finish ripping off his T-shirt from under his jacket and fails to do so before getting out his lighter and setting the fabric on fire to weaken the last strand.

His two friends watch on as he is successful, but he then catches fire with the T-shirt beginning to burn.

The lift doors then open and reveal two people waiting to get in, but they appear to hesitate at the sight of the burning Russian in front of them.

The lift doors close again, and the drunk man yells as he sees the flames.

But then the lift doors open, and he appears to forget that he is on fire as he can no longer see his bottom burning as he casually gets out with his two friends, who also do nothing to stop the flames.
They appear to attempt to remove the T-shirt as smoke fills the hallway as the footage ends.

Local media reports said that the drunk man, who has not been named, was not badly injured.

It is currently unclear if the authorities are investigating the incident.
