In a recent update on the Elizabeth Ridge Fire, the wildfire located east of Elizabeth Pass has now been more accurately mapped to cover 105 acres, with containment efforts reaching 10% as of the latest report. Despite challenging conditions, 45 dedicated firefighters, comprising hand crews, engine crews, and supported by helicopters, continue to make strides in confining the blaze.

The firefighting teams, a mix of personnel from the State of Utah, the Forest Service, and contractors, have managed to keep the fire within its containment lines, a significant achievement given the recent strong winds that could have exacerbated the situation.

Weather conditions are now playing a pivotal role in the fire's behavior. The National Weather Service has forecasted snow showers for Tuesday, potentially bringing up to 2 inches of accumulation, along with additional precipitation expected throughout the week. These cooler temperatures and increased humidity are anticipated to aid in fire suppression efforts, although the fire persists in areas laden with heavy dead fuels, complicating complete containment.
