This is the heartwarming moment an exchange student was reunited with her U.S. host family in Arizona.

Khun Benzkul stayed with the family for a year while studying then returned to her native Thailand in 2019.

However, she surprised the family with a visit to their home on September 15 after five years apart.

Footage shows the young Thai woman ringing the doorbell of the house. A woman opened and was shocked to see her visitor, prompting her to scream in joy and embrace her.

Benzkul said: 'I missed my host family so much and I didn't think I'd get to see them again. Staying there was the best experience of my life.

'So recently, I was sent for a work trip to Lake Tahoe, Sierra Nevada. I contacted my former host's sister because I wanted to visit them and keep it a secret.

'It was so emotional seeing them again. We spent the whole day together and visited the places I used to go.'
