This is the amusing moment a hippo stretched its jaw to have its teeth brushed.

Tang Mo, the twenty-two-year-old hippopotamus, widely opened its mouth to let its keeper perform dental care at Chiang Mai Night Safari in Thailand, on September 16.

Footage shows the animal seemingly enjoying the cleanup, while its companion, Tang Gua, another twenty-two-year-old hippo, waits its turn at Tang Mo's back.

The zookeeper used a loofah attached to a wooden stick to scrub the inside of its mouth and doused it with running water.

A hippo is sometimes known as a river horse as the name 'hippopotamus' comes from the ancient Greek words 'hippos', meaning 'horse', and 'potamos', meaning 'river'.
