A customer found a dead gecko floating in his bottle of soda and vomited in disgust at a food stall.

The worker dined at the noodle restaurant with his friend and bought two fizzy drinks in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, on September 16.

He poured the beverage onto a glass with ice and took a sip before tasting something strange.

When he checked the container, he found the head of a reptile and saw the lower half of the animal's body inside the bottle.

CCTV footage shows the disgusted man throwing up on the side of their table when he saw the gecko. He showed the bottle to his friend and called the owner.

The food stall owner Athicha Jumpla, 33, said: ‘I apologised to the customers and did not charge them for the drink.

‘The bottles are delivered to my shop every week, but we never encountered that before.'

She took the bottle from the customers and recorded a video of it, showing the gecko's body floating inside.

Athicha said she filed a complaint to her supplier.

She said: ‘They should be more careful with packaging because it is a health risk to provide contaminated food.'
