US: Santa Ana Orange County Fire Authority Fire Truck Rolls Over on Freeway 8 Firefighters Injured

On September 19, 2024, at 6:50 p.m., the Orange County Fire Department and CHP responded to a traffic collision involving an Orange County Fire Department Brush Fire work crew truck rolled over on the freeway.
According to the CHP, the fire crew was traveling northbound on State Route 241 toll road near Portola Parkway exit when the fire truck swerved to avoid hitting a metal ladder in the lanes. The fire truck then hit the guard rail and overturned.
A total of eight OCFA hand crews were injured: Six with major injuries and two with moderate injuries from the crash. This incident is currently under investigation by CHP and Orange County Fire Authority.


The crew had just finished their 12-hour shift on the "Airport Fire," according to the OCFA.
