Russia: Polar Bear Frolics On Her Personal Snow Slide At Moscow Zoo
Moscow, Russia - September 19, 2024
This footage shows a female polar bear named Aika enjoying a snow slide at Moscow Zoo as colder temperatures set in.
The clip, recorded at Moscow Zoo, in Russia, shows the animal enjoying her snow slide on 19th September.
Aika was born at the Rostov-on-Don Zoo in 2020. Her mum Comet took her to the outdoor enclosure and showed her to zoo spectators for the first time when she was three months old.
At the time she was a very small, timid bear cub that stayed close to her mother all the time.
But after some time passed, she was spotted eagerly walking around the enclosure on her own, swimming in the pool, playing, delighting zoologists, keepers, and all visitors to the zoo, local media added.
Aika arrived in Moscow as part of the Union of Zoos and Aquariums of Russia (SOZAR) programme aimed at conserving polar bears.
