Kenya: Public University Lecturers and Staff strikes
Kakamega, Kenya - September 19, 2024
Day two of the lecturers strike in public universities continued despite a court order on the 18th to temporarily end the strike. The nation wide strike in over 35 public universities in Kenya under the Kenya University Staff Union KUSU and the Universities Academic Staff Union UASU demand salary increment, and implementation of a comprehensive medical cover. Non remittance of statutory deduction is another demand.
