This is the miraculous moment a fast food dumpling seller narrowly escapes disaster by closing the entrance just seconds before the ceiling collapses right where he had been sitting.

CCTV footage captured in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, China, on September 16, shows the tense scene during Typhoon Bebinca.

The elderly man, enjoying some quiet time, noticed the doors suddenly blow open. He quickly moved to close them, and moments later, the roof and support structures came crashing down exactly where he had been seated.

Ms Zhang, the daughter of the elderly man in the video, said: 'Good people will be helped by God.'

'My father is 59 years old, and he set up his business after we came here from Anhui.

'When he saw that the entrance had opened because the wind was so strong, he went over to close it. At that moment, the ceiling collapsed.'

The Category 1 storm made landfall in Shanghai on Monday morning, with wind speeds of about 150 km/h (95 mph).

Meteorologists said it has been the most powerful tropical cyclone that has affected the city since 1949.
