The 5 Star Headland Hotel Newquay Cornwall is hired for the weekend by an Irish businessman and well-known personality in the world of Horse racing. To celebrate his 60th birthday and to accommodate and pamper a large number of friends, family and business associates, Mr Breen took over the entire hotel. A genuine Victorian Carousel was brought into the Hotel grounds and covered bar areas are erected. A lavish package of refreshments and food is provided. However, casual visitors making their way to the usually publicly accessible hotel were disappointed to be politely turned away. A birthday gift of a bay gelding racehorse named "Prydwen" from his wife Mary has proved highly successful, this new addition to his stable has already won The Kellihers Toyota Kingdom Gold Cup in Killarney earlier this month and a prestigious Race in Germany.
