A protest demonstration was organized on Sunday, September 22, 2024, by the Tunisian Network for Rights and Freedoms, to demonstrate against the proposed amendment to the electoral law that would sideline the administrative court from examining electoral disputes.
The protesters gathered on Habib Bourguiba Avenue, in front of the Municipal Theater, chanting several slogans mainly demanding "Freedom" and "the fall of the regime". Among the slogans, also: "It's your turn, O Saied the dictator"; "No fear, no fear, the street belongs to the people"; "Freedoms; freedoms, the police state is over".
The protesters tried to advance towards the Ministry of the Interior. However, a security device was put in place preventing them from approaching the building any further.
