Hungry supermarket clerk tries to escape with bowl of soup during earthquake
This is the shocking moment a hungry cashier tries to run out of the store during an earthquake, still carrying the bowl of soup that she had been eating, but ends up falling flat on her face.
The clerk managed to escape after getting back on her feet and running out of the store when the earthquake struck in Hefei, Anhui Province, China, on September 18.
Experts monitoring seismic activity reported it as a 4.7-magnitude earthquake.
Surveillance footage shows the woman suddenly looking up at a loud crack before running as shelves shook and products fell to the floor.
Some liquid spilled onto the floor, possibly from the fridge, creating a slippery surface. She fell as she ran with the bowl in one hand, shattering the bowl into many pieces.
She quickly picked herself up and continued running, with footage showing bottles of wine and other products crashing to the floor behind her.
It remains unclear what the woman, believed to be the supermarket's owner, was eating at the time.
