Huge python pulled from family's home ceiling
A jumbo python was dragged from the ceiling of a family's home.
The 20ft (six meters) snake was initially thought to be a big rat until the residents checked and discovered it had been nesting above their bedroom in Pathum Thani, Thailand on September 16.
Footage shows the serpent's lower body being pulled from the manhole by rescuers. A volunteer grabbed its tail and pulled it while a colleague was above, securing its neck with a catching tool.
It was then secured in a steel cage and evacuated from the house.
The snake was taken to the rescue facility before it was released into the wild.
The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
