On the afternoon of September 22, a partial roof collapse occurred at a textile market in Haizhu District, Guangzhou, fortunately resulting in no injuries.

Around 4 pm, during demolition work by a construction crew, part of the roof on the seventh floor of the market collapsed. The accident caused construction debris and parts of the atrium canopy to fall, leaving the scene in disarray. According to eyewitnesses, fallen materials included metal sheets, iron frames, and cement blocks, impacting the surrounding environment and disrupting nearby businesses.

Luckily, a man working nearby noticed the danger in time and quickly fled the area, avoiding injury. Surveillance footage captured the dramatic escape.

Following the incident, Haizhu District authorities promptly intervened, urging the market management to cordon off and clear the affected area to eliminate safety hazards. They also emphasised the importance of reinforcing safety supervision at the site.
