River Nene Overflows as Torrential Rains Flood Northampton


“Northampton town centre is facing severe flooding this morning as the River Nene has risen to unprecedented levels following two days of relentless rain. This footage, captured by Andy Durrant at 8:30 a.m., shows the river dangerously high—higher than many locals have ever seen before.”


“Emergency services were called to the scene early this morning. At 6:23 a.m., Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue responded to reports of a boat in difficulty after the river burst its banks. Firefighters arrived and worked with the boat owner, offering safety advice as the situation continued to escalate.”


“With vast areas now submerged, emergency services are on high alert, and further rescues may be necessary. Residents are urged to remain cautious as water levels continue to rise in and around Northampton.”
