In the early morning of September 21, a pedestrian corridor collapse occurred at Taifu Times Square in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.

According to witnesses, around 8 am, a second-floor pedestrian corridor inside the square suddenly collapsed. The side and bottom structures were severely damaged, leaving the scene in disarray with shattered glass covering the ground. Suspected buried pipes continued to spray water, adding to the chaos.

Luckily, due to the low foot traffic in the mall at the time of the incident, no one was inside the corridor, preventing any injuries. One witness recounted narrowly avoiding disaster as the collapse occurred just as they passed by, reflecting on the fragility and value of life.

Store owners who discovered the collapse when opening their shops expressed that the incident was unrelated to the recent typhoon or any store renovations, suspecting structural issues instead. After the accident, mall management quickly cordoned off the area and began repairs.

Emergency management officials stated that an investigation into the cause of the collapse is underway.
