Tourists arrested over high-speed chase and road rage shooting
Two Chinese tourists involved in high-speed chase and road rage shooting were arrested in the Philippines.
One of the foreigners and his Filipino aide chased the BMW sedan that was allegedly stolen from them in Manila, the Philippines, on September 21.
Dashcam footage shows the vehicle crashing on the trunk of the luxury vehicle as they approached an intersection.
Moments later, one of the tourists was seen pulling a gun on the BMW and shooting at it at least five times.
Pasay City Police Chief Colonel Samuel Pabonita said: ‘The passenger of this BMW got out and shot at the other car, and there was an exchange of shots.'
No one was injured in the altercation, and officers later caught and identified the two Chinese as Xiaolei, 40, and Wang, 31, while the Filipino driver was Redentor, 39.
Two 9mm pistol handguns and a replica assault rifle were confiscated from them. They are being held in police custody during the investigation.
The city police chief added: ‘We filed charges against them. They also underwent an inquest. They have violated RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition Act. They are also facing charges for carnapping, alarm and scandal, and reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property.'
