A former Seychelles senior official has hailed China's role in promoting African countries' development. He said that it is mutually beneficial to continue this cooperation.

"It is very important that development is equitable. Development is for all, and we like the approach that China has taken. 
We want a partnership of equals, and that is exactly what China is doing.
Africa is a continent that needs development. Africa has a lot of resources, both mineral and also human resources. What we need together is to have partners, find partners who are real partners.
China is a partner that values the African nations, respects the cultures of African nations, and works for the mutual benefit of all the countries and the continent as a whole. So China remains one of the most important partners... trade, economic, bilateral, diplomatic partner of the continent.
Having China as a friend who is ready and willing to help us on all areas of educational development, cultural development, technology, in the areas of the protection of the environment, climate change, is having a worthy partner who will be with us, who will accompany us during good times and bad times. 
With the support of China, it is mutually beneficial for us to continue working together."
