This is the chilling moment a vengeful friend allegedly murdered his pal by dropping a barbell on his head.

Farm workers Wemby Delima and Marjun Andaya spent all night drinking at a village fiesta before returning to the staff dormitory in the town of Balamban in Cebu province, the Philippines, early morning on September 22.

However, they were said to have had a violent row as they brought up past grudges while talking.

Harrowing CCTV footage shows Wemby in a red shirt walking toward an outdoor kitchen to grab a homemade concrete barbell while Marjun was heard howling in pain in his room at around 5:29am local time.

Wemby carried the makeshift weights inside and reportedly dropped them on his pal's head twice, eliciting bloodcurdling screams. He emerged from the room again and took a knife with which he allegedly stabbed Marjun as the latter was heard begging for his life.

Another clip showed Wemby strolling out of the compound wearing a backpack.

Other staff reported the incident to police after finding Marjun seriously injured in the room. He was rushed to a hospital but died on September 23.

Officers recovered from the scene the bloody knife and barbell.

Police Major Ian Macatangay, spokesman for the Cebu Provincial Police Office, said: 'They were heard by their co-workers fighting. These two were together on a drinking spree the night before. They came home in the morning. Assuming they were drunk, they were in their room and they were heard shouting.'

Balamban Police Station Chief Police Lieutenant Colonel Julius Garcia added: 'Actually, before this incident, they already had personal grduges and differences. There were misunderstanding but they managed those until such a time that everything boiled over.'

Police said they were hunting down Wemby, who was also found to have a standing arrest warrant in Cavite province for murder and theft.
