Tourists knocked down by powerful river tide in China
On September 22, a group of tourists found themselves in an unexpected predicament while watching the famous Qiantang River tide in Hangzhou, eastern China. In a sudden and dramatic turn of events, a massive wave surged forward, catching some spectators off guard and knocking them down. Fortunately, all those involved emerged unscathed from the incident.
According to the videographer who captured the event, the tide's behavior was atypical for the area. Normally, the water does not reach the spot where the tourists were standing. However, it is believed that strong winds on that particular day intensified the water's momentum, leading to the unusual occurrence.
The video was provided with permission from local media.
