US: Los Angeles Metro Bus Driver Held Hostage at Gunpoint Full Video

09/25/2024 12:50 am (GMT-0700) | Los Angeles – LAPD has stopped a metro bus that led officers on a slow speed pursuit through the streets of Los Angeles while the driver was being held hostage by a man with a gun. The incident started in the area of W 112th St & S Figueroa St where LAPD received reports of a shooting. Officers then received notification of a Metro Bus with a hold up alarm heading southbound on Figueroa shortly after the reported shooting. Officers were able to locate the bus in the area of S Figueroa St & W 119th St at approximately 12:54 AM where they witnessed a man with a gun directing the driver to continue moving the bus. After multiple spike strip deployments, the bus was unable to continue and stopped facing southbound on Alameda just south of 6th St. The bus stopped at approximately 1:30 AM. LAPD SWAT officers arrived at the location at 620 S. Alameda and were able to rescue the bus driver after deploying flash bangs. There are currently reports of a passenger on the bus who had been shot. The suspect was taken into custody and was subsequently transported to UCMC by LAFD along with the bus passenger. The bus driver appeared to be unharmed and was rescued through the drivers side window of the bus. The area is closed to traffic in all directions. Condition of the victim on the bus is unknown at this time.
