Leopard captured by officials after terrorising locals for weeks in southern India

A leopard that had been terrorising locals for weeks in Bengaluru, Karnataka, has been captured by forest department officials.

Bengaluru Rural Deputy Conservator of Forests (DCF) Ravindra Kumar N. stated that three cages were placed at different spots across Electronic City, and the leopard was finally trapped near the helipad, an isolated spot where it had been seen frequently. Once captured, the leopard underwent a medical examination and was relocated to a forest near Mysuru.

Reportedly, The forest department had been tracking the leopard for days after it was first spotted near the Electronic City toll plaza. Surveillance cameras were set up, and traps were laid in isolated areas. The leopard’s presence had caused panic among residents and employees working in the area.
