Heavy Rains Cause Chaos in Mumbai: Flooded Highways and Widespread Traffic Jams"

Severe rainfall on September 25 led to extensive flooding and traffic disruptions across Mumbai, particularly on the Western Express Highway near Goregaon East metro station. Footage filmed by Yash Chavan around 9:40 p.m. shows vehicles stranded in deep water as heavy rain submerged the highway towards Andheri. To ease congestion, traffic was diverted to the service road. The relentless downpour caused further chaos, with traffic jams reported across the city.

According to traffic police, both the north and south-bound lanes between Bandra and Goregaon were severely affected. The Andheri subway, waterlogged by up to two and a half feet, forced traffic to divert to S V Road. Similar bottlenecks were reported on the Eastern Express Highway near Chedda Nagar, as well as in Ghatkopar, Matunga, Bandra, Oshiwara, Jogeshwari, and Malad."
