"The 21st China-ASEAN Expo is now underway in China's Nanning. This year's expo features a new section, strategic emerging industries. This section showcases the latest developments and technologies in fields such as digital technology, new energy and intelligent connected vehicles."
STANDUP 2 (English): YU JIAMING, Xinhua correspondent
"One of China's latest forays in the tech sector is into what's called the 'low-altitude economy' -- the airspace roughly 1,000 to 3,000 meters above the ground, where civil-manned and unmanned vehicles operate. And this is one of the newest products developed by Chinese aircraft designers."
SOUNDBITE 1 (Chinese): WANG LONGLIN, Deputy General Manager, Guangxi Beitou Low-altitude Economy Investment Co., Ltd.
"This product shaped like a UFO might become a common vehicle for low-altitude transportation in the future. It can take off from and land on water vertically. Now we are gradually expanding markets in countries like Vietnam, Laos, and Malaysia. Our company wants to take Nanning as a forefront to export low-altitude technologies and products to ASEAN countries."
STANDUP 3 (English): YU JIAMING, Xinhua correspondent
"Back to earth, new NEV models in China offer better experiences for tech-savvy users than before, with new technology features, lower maintenance costs, a longer driving range and better power performance."
SOUNDBITE 2 (Chinese): XIANG TAO, Director of Manufacturing & Engineering, SGMW Overseas Business and Engineering Center
"This model was put into production in Indonesia in 2022. It has a dual-screen design. It is equipped with driver assistance functions and IoV (Internet of Vehicles) applications. In fact, as one of the first Chinese automakers to bring its industrial chain overseas, SGMW has established partnerships with over 70 local suppliers in Indonesia."
China has been ASEAN's largest trading partner for 15 consecutive years, while ASEAN surpassed the European Union as China's largest trading partner in 2020.
Leading Chinese renewable energy firms are also working closely with ASEAN enterprises and investing in new facilities to produce innovative, locally adapted products, thus actively contributing to ASEAN's green transition.
SOUNDBITE 3(Chinese): SONG HAILIANG, Chairman of China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd.
"Through the platform of the China-ASEAN Expo, China Energy Engineering Group has further deepened its comprehensive and in-depth cooperation with ASEAN countries. At present, the projects we have undertaken in Southeast Asia are worth about 90 billion yuan (about 12.82 billion U.S. dollars). In the future, we will pay more attention to high-quality and high-efficiency cooperation in green transition, digitalization, and integration."
