Kitten rescued from clutches of wild python
This is the heartwarming moment a kitten was rescued from the clutches of a wild python.
Locals called the emergency services when they found the large snake constricting the black and white cat in Prachinburi, Thailand, on September 17.
Radio operator Thian Klongpanitchakit, 48, from the Sawang Bampen Thammasathan Rescue Foundation was closest and rushed to the garden to save the moggy.
Upon arriving at the scene, the team found the predator tightly coiled around the furry creature in the backyard of a house. Using snake-handling tools, they managed to separate the reptile from the cat, though the animal had already stopped breathing.
Footage shows a rescuer performing CPR, administering chest compressions for approximately five minutes until the cat begins breathing again.
After reviving the kitten, the homeowner requested to take it for care and medical treatment. It was given a drink of milk and fresh food while recovering at the home.
The captured python was released back into the wild by the foundation.
Pythons are nonvenomous constrictors that prey on rodents, birds, lizards, and mammals. They do not have venomous fangs and can only consume their prey whole by swallowing them.
