A woman travelled nearly 3,000 miles in just 24 hours - so she could attend two weddings.

Serena Kerrigan, 30, went coast to coast in the US - journeying from Santa Ynez in California to Brooklyn in New York.

The journey included a no-show taxi, a sprint through the airport and a stop-by in a New York salon.

But Serena managed to make it for the entirety of both weddings, which took place on September 21 and September 22.

She said: "It felt amazing to see both weddings. Both couples mean the world to me, and I was fortunate their weddings didn't fall on the same night, allowing me to attend both. "

"There's something magical about these moments: people dressed in their finest, radiating happiness, and sharing in the joy of two lives joining together. "

"It's a celebration not just of the couple, but of life itself. Why would I ever want to miss that?"

Serena, an influencer from New York City, had her share of dramatic moments on the trip - staring with an unreliable taxi driver in California.

She said: "When I realised the driver ghosted at about 2:00 am, I quickly tried Uber and Lyft, but nothing was available."

Even the taxis were either busy or off duty.

"That's when the panic set in."

"Finally, at 3:30 a.m., a driver showed up. I ended up arriving at the airport at 5:35 am, and my flight was set to take off at 5:57 am."

This is point at which Serena begins hurtling through the airport and ultimately made a mistake which would cost her crucial minutes.

She said: "Still slightly drunk from the wedding, I frantically searched for my gate, only to be told it was in a different terminal. "

"Cue another sprint, completely out of breath, until I finally reached the gate just as my phone died. "

"They printed my ticket, and I collapsed into my seat, utterly exhausted and dehydrated."

Finally, Serena arrived at John K Kennedy Airport where her boyfriend picked her up - but at this point she did not feel wedding-ready.

She said: "It was 2:30 pm, and the second wedding of the weekend started at 4:30pm sharp in Brooklyn. "

"With traffic, it would take at least an hour to get there, and I was starving and looked like absolute hell."

"Desperate, I called six salons in Williamsburg, praying someone could squeeze me in. "

"Luckily, a kind woman at Velvet Rose Beauty Salon answered and saved the day. "

"She gave me a blowout in under 20 minutes, while I sat in the chair doing my own makeup. "

"Honestly, I think I looked better at the second wedding than the first!"

Once she was able to relax, Serena enjoyed the second wedding immensely and felt very proud she was able to make both.
