Workers flee as fire rips though Tata Electronics factory in India
Workers fled as fire ripped through Tata Electronics manufacturing facility in India.
Footage shows a huge plume of smoke billowing across the sky after the massive fire broke out at the factory in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, on September 28.
Local media reported that the fire started at the mobile phone accessories painting plant in Uddanapalli, near Nagamangalam, around 5:30 am, forcing around 1,500 workers on shift to flee.
No serious injuries have been reported, but three workers were sent to a private hospital due to respiratory problems. Police claim that their health is stable.
All personnel were able to safely evacuate as emergency protocols were promptly implemented.
More than a hundred police officers were deployed to oversee the evacuation and ensure everyone's safety on the property.
A Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) representative acknowledged the fire at their Hosur plant. The company is dedicated to taking all required precautions going forward to safeguard its stakeholders and employees, even as the cause of the incident is still being investigated.
Tata Electronics Private Limited is a greenfield venture of the Tata Group, specializing in manufacturing precision components.
